This is my take on the Masters of the Universe series, which is based largely on the original mini-comics, parts of the animated shows, and the works of Moebius. I enjoyed the recent Netflix series, but I couldn’t help but wish they had done a different take on the classic series. For inspiration, I went back to He-Man’s origins from the mini-comics that came with the original toy line.

Adam, a barbarian from a roaming Eternian tribe, secret ancestor of King Grayskull, wields one half of the Sword of Power. These two parts combined are the key to the secrets within Castle Grayskull. In my take, Adam is no longer born into a royal family. He no longer has two separate identities. This Adam is a warrior carving out his own destiny and forging unbreakable bonds along his journey through acts of selfless heroism.

Duncan, Man-At-Arms of a band of mercenaries in the employ of King Randor. A skilled inventor, Duncan makes use of many trinkets left over from the Great Wars of long ago.

Tee-La, skilled warrior and adopted daughter of Duncan, Man-at-Arms. Unknown to Tee-La, she is the imprint of a powerful sorcerer that protects Castle Grayskull. She was discovered many years ago by Duncan, during a counter-offensive against a war-lord known as Keldor. He took the child in and raised her as his own.

Orko, a Trollan mage searching for a way back home. Trollan magic is strong in their plane of existence, but Orko struggles with his conjurations and spells, often causing chaos.
