Hunters are large, heavily-armored Pfhor that can withstand a high amount of damage. Though their abilities were more limited to just being able to shoot in the original game, I wanted to develop them into a defensive-charger type enemy with a powerful shoulder-mounted energy cannon. The idea for the living alien shields came from the Pfhor's key descriptor of being a race of slavers. I thought it would sell that idea better if I could incorporate that into their design. Plus, arthropod-shark-arms are BADASS.
This is fan concept art for a theoretical remake of Bungie's first Marathon game. I was inspired by the beautiful and faithful redesigns of classic characters and environments from Doom Eternal and the FFVII Remake. I wanted to show love to the Halo-precursor series which has a cool story about AI, cybernetics, and aliens.
