I was tasked with coming up with armor concepts for the player's surrogate characters in Fury. The direction given was "futuristic military sci-fi", everything needed to feel grounded and functional.
I started first by producing a series of thumbnail drawings over several stock images of people dressed in tactical gear.
After talking with the design leads, we decided to pursue designing a techsuit for which we could overlay all the armor pieces. I made sure to include a lot of armor plug-in points to be swapped out for whatever piece of customizable armor the player wanted. I refined the techsuit, working closely with the design leads, and created an orthographic viewpoint to give our lead character artist, Ben Henry, a 360 visualization for how this techsuit could work.
